Our Heartfelt Journey in Berkeley
El Tiny Cafe began with a simple hope: to carve out time for family and share the warmth of good coffee in the heart of Berkeley. After a decade working in every corner of the coffee world - even mopping floors with our daughter at our side - we dreamed of a cafe that blended our Mexican roots with our new American life. The name comes directly from our family: Spanish and English mixed, just like us. Guided by those first days gathering around small cups of cafecito, we built a woman-owned space where every bean - from Chiapas' women farmers - carries a story of empowerment. We are so grateful for every neighbor, friend, and newcomer who gives meaning to each milestone, from opening mid-pandemic to growing a loyal community, all with true Berkeley spirit.
